PEYZAJ MİMARLIĞI BÖLÜMÜ |

Çukurova Üniversitesi yerleşkesinde yer alan Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü, Ziraat
Fakültesinin üç programından biridir. Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü adı altında ve Ankara
Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr.
Yüksel ÖZTAN’ın kuruculuğunda 1970 yılında eğitim ve öğretim faaliyetlerine
başlamıştır. Prof. Dr. Yüksel ÖZTAN’ın Çukurova Üniversitesindeki görevi sona
erdikten sonra Bölüm Başkanlığı Ziraat Fakültesi Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr.
Muhsin YILMAZ tarafından yürütülmüştür. Daha sonraki dönemlerde Bölüm
Başkanlıklarını Prof. Dr. Türker ALTAN (1976-1985), Prof. Dr. Güngör UZUN
(1985-2000), Prof. Dr. Sevil ALTAN (2000-2003), Prof. Dr. Muzaffer YÜCEL
(2003-2006) ve Prof. Dr. M. Faruk ALTUNKASA (2006-Devam Ediyor)
yürütmüşlerdir. Bölümün Özgörüşü : Peyzaj Planlama ve Peyzaj Tasarımı
disiplinlerini tüm ölçeklerde yönlendiren, köklü geçmişini çağdaş atılımlarla
bütünleştiren, ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde rekabet edebilen, yenilikçi
kadrosu ile eğitim ve öğretim, araştırma ve uygulama alanlarında öncü bir
Bölüm olmaktır. Bölümün Özgörevi : Geleceği yönlendirmek üzere
çevreyi, doğayı, yaşam ve mekanı kavrayabilen, bilgi birikimini yaratıcı ve
aydın kimliği ile bütünleştiren, yeniliklerle kendisini geliştirebilen Peyzaj
Plancıları ve Peyzaj Tasarımcıları ile bilim adamları yetiştirmek ve
araştırma-uygulama alanlarında üretilen bilgiyi kamu yararına toplumsal
yaşama aktarmaktır. Temel Değerler : Bölümün eğitim, öğretim, araştırma
ve uygulama etkinliklerinde benimsediği temel değerler üç kümede
toplanmıştır: ·

•• Planlama ve tasarım etkinliklerinin
farklı disiplinlerin bir araya gelmesini gerektiren bir takım çalışması
olduğunu unutmadan meslek ahlakı ve sorumluluk duygusunu en üst düzeyde

Doğa Koruma, Çevre Yönetimi, Çevresel Etki Değerlendirmesi, Stratejik
Çevresel Değerlendirme konularındaki etkinliklerinde yoğun ve etkili görev
alabilirler. Peyzaj Mimarları, özel sektör bağlamında gerek çalışan olarak ve
gerekse kendi adına; Planlama ve Tasarım Büroları, Peyzaj Uygulama
Müteahhitlik Firmaları yanında Yapı Denetim Kuruluşları, Turizm Tesisleri,
Ulusal ve Uluslararası Çevre Örgütlerinde çalışma olanağına sahiptir.
The
Department of Landscape Architecture is one of three programs in Agriculture
Faculty. The Department was began research and education activities in 1970. Vision of
the department; to advance in education, research and application fields,
which can be processed landscape planning and landscape design disciplines in
all measures, which can be integrated its well-known history with modern
enterprises, which can be competitor in national and international grade with
its modernist staff. The mission of the department is
to develop facilities for education, research and dissemination on landscape
architecture. In this context the main target is to achieve planning and
design policies, concepts and practices together with social and economic
needs while respecting the ecological integrity of the environment through an
integrated program of teaching and research. The Çukurova Region and its
surroundings is considered as a laboratory for inquiry and instruction on the
growth and management interests of the settlement units in the region. Study Subjects
Education
program is aimed that growth employees, which are needed in landscape
architecture field. In this respect, the department grows employees, which
are equipped with academic and technical information, which are need in
government and sector of profession. The other aims are; researches about
targets for prepare information courses, seminar and conferences to
interested organizations. Contributions of Department to

planning studies intend to protection and development of landscape in Amanos
mountains. · Detection
of Akyatan dune and studies about reclamation of Çakıt river. · The studies
for protection and development of Çukurova region coastal. · Environmental
effect assessment for few corporations in the region. · Special
Environment Protection Area master plan of Silifke-Göksu delta · Göksu delta
botanical park land use plan. · Master
plans of Karatepe-Aslantaş and Aladağlar national parks.
· The studies
had been realised for generating a balance between natural and environmental elements
in Çukurova region which has high growth speed from affiliation of
technologic and social-economic with physical developments with different
characters. · Urban green
space studies. · Project and
application studies (coastal of Seyhan river in Adana, coastal section in
Mersin, urban parks and multi-functioned recreation areas in town center in
the region). · Outdoor
designing studies in education associations (landscape projects of over the
100 education associations were made in the rest of the region). · Environmental
design studies areas which are in intensive usage as roads, squares etc. (as
Adana Atatürk Park, Mersin Atatürk Park, Tepebağ Urban Sit Area, Tarsus
Eshabı-ı Kehf Place, Çukurova Castles). · Determination
of protection and development politics studies for historical places, which
should be protect and develop. · The studies
of roads landscape design was implemented with participation of Çukurova
University Landscape Architecture Department, Highways Department of Turkish
Republic and Regional Forestry Department in Çukurova Region, which was a
merger point of two important highways according to international
characteristic. · The
different-aimed coastal use was focused to an important land situation with
its natural and environmental problems and optimal development methods. The
protean researches were begun about this subject and many contributions had
been provided through mass communication tools, panel and conferences for
generating environment consciousness and public opinion. · The studies
which can determine of development dynamics of Adana city with together under
reasons of this fact and assessment of the results of questioned development
in terms of rational using of natural resources. · The studies
